Description: 11 staves of manuscript music on paper, signed Harold Arlen at upper left and titles "Over the Rainbow" at upper right. 10¼x8½, matted with a color picture of Judy Garland as Dorothy in the 1939 motion picture of The Wizard of Oz; a pair of miniature ruby slippers; a printed biographical sketch of Harold Arlen; and a plaque noting recognition as "The #1 Song of the 20th Century." Overall 27½x25".Scarce signed manuscript of the song that was Harold Arlen's most famous creation, an early fair copy, in Arlen's hand. From the estate of the late James "Buffalo Jim" Barrier, sports promoter and celebrated Las Vegas personality, whose personal collection at the time of his death in April of 2008 ranged from celebrity memorabilia and classic automobiles to entertainment and cultural icons such as the present piece.
