Rare Talbot Ben Hur Trout Reel

Rare "Talbot Reel & Mfg. Co. - K.C. Mo., U.S.A." Marked Ben Hur Hand Made German Silver and Aluminum Trout Reel. A larger model 101 with a 2 3/8" diameter, brass spool arbor and brushed aluminum spool sides. The graceful S handle with nickel silver counter balance is fitted with an ivory handle grasp, and the tail plate features a flat steel hub and sliding click switch. The spool configuration matches that of an example marked "Special", with hollow spool that slides over the stub's steel shaft with threaded end to secure the spool in place. Marked with serial number 7824 on the inside of the tail plate, in excellent condition and circa 1914 to 1921.
