Fine Newcomb high glaze vase with carved and painted floral decoration done in 1904 by Cynthia Littlejohn. The flora appear to be very stylized passion flowers which repeat around the body of the vase, intermingled with leaves, all of which are outlined in dark blue. Marks include the Newcomb logo, the date code for 1904 (VV 63), JM for potter Joseph Meyer, Q for buff clay body and the monogram of the artist in blue slip. Height 8 5/8 inches. Fine crazing with strong color and composition.
