Bill Traylor (1854-1949). Paint and graphite on cardboard. Signed on front. 9" w x 12.5"h. Frame is 18" w x 22" h. Excellent condition. Provenance: The Lynne Ingram Collection. This piece was one of 10 pieces Marcia Weber found in the attic of Jay Leavell (a member of New South Group along with Charles Shannon) in 1986. While working at Leon Loard, Marcia remembers selling this piece to Lynne Ingram a few years after the discovery. Marcia considers these 10 pieces especially significant in Traylor research as they are known to be 100% original, without re-touching or restoration. Est. $30,000-40,000.
